President Buhari establishes a post-NYSC employment programme that would employ 20,000 graduates yearly.

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Program on Tuesday to help 20,000 new graduates yearly. President Buhari promised that the initiative would allow mentors from different sectors to offer mentoring and assistance to young Nigerians during the event.
“We will be creating a new culture of mentoring and assistance that can chart a new path for skills development and job experience in our country,” he says.
“We think that by providing fresh chances to 20,000 recent graduates yearly, they will optimize their 12 months of engagement.”
In addition, he said that the jubilee initiative would enable young Nigerians to acquire job experience in top-tier companies, develop essential skills, and establish relevant networks for the future in a range of industries like telecommunications and information technology.
In addition, there are public sector organizations and the mining and telecommunications sectors. Building the appropriate skills and experiences across various industries is critical to maintaining the current economic boom.”
The President said the programme would complement other government initiatives to help young Nigerians, including the N75 billion youth fund set up by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to help young Nigerians start businesses or develop business ideas.
On the other hand, he urged private sector companies to participate by offering job placement opportunities, mentors, and financing.

“I appreciate the UNDP and the EU for their assistance on this important project. And I proclaim the programme open.”
President Buhari also said that the economy grew by 5% in the second quarter of 2021, the highest in six years, ensuring that the Jubilee Fellows Program would build on its achievements.
He cited telecommunications, transportation, energy, agriculture, and manufacturing as significant economic development and diversification drivers in the second quarter.
A steering group for the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy (NPRGS) was established on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. This builds on the success of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan and the Economic Sustainability Plan’s focused reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“These efforts paid off, as Nigeria’s GDP grew by 5% in the second quarter of 2021, the fastest in six years. Trade, telecommunications, transportation, power, agriculture, and industry fueled this development. Each of these areas improved, resulting in additional employment for our people.
“Employment and opportunity creation are vital parts of our policies and objectives. When our administration was elected in 2015, we pledged to increase employment possibilities for Nigerians, and we enrolled 500,000 graduates in our N-power programme.
The President reminded everyone that he ordered 1 million graduates in 2019.
“These graduates are recruited to work in agriculture, health and education institutions throughout the country,” President Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina, stated. The N-power non-graduate component trains thousands of Nigerians in technology, masonry, auto repair, and carpentry.
“We anticipate 2 million new workers yearly. We will continue to engage with our partners to offer additional employment opportunities, such as the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme with the UNDP.
